It has its source near Gaillefontaine and runs over 50 km before joining the Varenne and the Eaulne rivers in Arques-la-Bataille. It crosses the park on the last kilometers of its course called lower valley.
Those three rivers make only one, the Arques, that flows into the Channel in Dieppe. |

From autumn to spring, since it rains a lot much water must flow into the sea in a very narrow channel. Consequently overflowings oftencause floodings partly responsible for some soil features (wet, silty and rich soil). |
