Recently digged out in 2001 the pond is supplied with underground water. Its banks are not totally covered by vegetation yet. According to the season its level varies from 40 cm in the summer to 1,50 m after the first winter flooding. When the river runs over the meadow is totally covered by water and fills in the hole of the pond. |

The pond is a good aid for our naturalistic activities and to show the diversity of the living world Many adult or larval insects, amphibians and plants inhabit the stagnant waters. Other animals come and hunt or drink in the pond... Aquatic life illustrates perfectly the notion ofr adaptation (breathing, moving...) as well. |
